The records, which were heavily redacted for privacy, included a lengthy dash-cam video of Jacobs’ May 26 arrest, during which he was booked into Brown County Jail. He originally faced five charges, and one of them—strangulation and suffocation—was a Class H felony.

Three of the charges were dismissed, and two of them—battery and criminal damage of property—were reduced to misdemeanors, to which Jacobs pled no contest and accepted a plea deal that included a $1,000 fine. Matters could take a stark turn, however, with multiple women now recounting their own experiences of assault from Jacobs.

According to NBC 26, the first woman contacted the police in June after news broke of Jacobs’ May arrest.

“According to the records, the woman alleged Jacobs slapped her across the face and later took her cellphone as she attempted to leave his residence. The woman told investigators that Jacobs grabbed her by the hair, threw her onto a bed, pinned her down and later threw her onto the floor. The woman also alleged Jacobs spit on her and grabbed her by the throat.”

A second woman came forth later that month, citing an altercation with Jacobs in April 2021. She allegedly sustained bruising to her arms, as well as swelling in her rib area after Jacobs grabbed her by the arms, pushed her against a wall, and threw her belongings outside of the home.

The woman contacted the police department at the time of the incident, but she was told it would not be investigated as a domestic dispute because she was not in a relationship with Jacobs. The records state that officers “observed no visible signs of injury, bruising, or damage consistent with a physical altercation.”

A third woman is included in the records as having contacted the police in July, citing a physical conflict with Jacobs in May 2022. The records indicate that she didn’t go to the police at the time of the dispute because Jacobs told her that she could be deported.

“The report later described a phone call with a third woman in July who told Hobart/Lawrence Police that in May 2022 Jacobs placed his hands on her head and neck, dragged her, scratched her chest, and took possession of her cell phone after it fell to the floor. She said she suffered bruising to her arm and scratches to her chest which she said remained visible for about a month, according to the records.

The woman told Hobart/Lawrence Police she did not report the incident to police or seek medical treatment at the time. She said Jacobs told her she could be deported, and because of that she did not believe she could report the incident to law enforcement.

The report said police were given that woman's information by the initial victim in the May 2026 case that led to Jacobs' arrest and conviction.”

Each account stems from the initial investigation into Jacobs’ battery of his then-girlfriend in May. The existence of video surveillance footage from inside Jacobs’ garage depicting the incident could drastically alter the outcome for Jacobs’ time with the Packers, his playing career, and potentially his freedom. According to what was detailed in the police report, the video displayed Jacobs shoving the victim to the ground inside the garage. The report also states that the victim hit her head—and the bump on her head supported that claim—before walking back into the house after lying on the ground for a while. In the midst of the incident, Jacobs smashed the victim’s phone.

According to the report released on Friday and per NBC 26, police at the scene documented redness and scratches on the victim’s head and scalp. In an interview with police, the victim told them that she believed she was going to die during Jacobs’ assault.

Following the release of the redacted records on Oct. 30, Jacobs’ attorneys, Clarence F. Duchac III, David Z. Chesnoff, and Richard A. Schonfeld, issued a statement.

“The Brown County District Attorney’s office had these uncorroborated, old, and previously unreported allegations for months. They conducted their own exhaustive investigation, along with the police department, and the D.A. determined that only two misdemeanor charges were warranted. They then entered into a plea agreement with Josh Jacobs. Josh has repeatedly expressed his remorse and is honoring the terms of the agreement.”

Jacobs missed the Packers’ first six games on the Commissioner Exempt List before returning last weekend against the Detroit Lions. The league could still opt to suspend Jacobs if it deemed he violated its Personal Conduct Policy, which is certainly on the table with new allegations coming to light.

After scoring a touchdown in Thursday night’s win over the Carolina Panthers, Jacobs’ celebration appeared to show him with his hands behind his back as if he were sporting handcuffs. He dismissed any notion that he was being tone-deaf or that he had overcome the allegations against him, saying that it was an ode to the gospel song, “Break Every Chain” by Tasha Cobbs Leonard.

There’s a reason why head coach Matt LaFleur called the Green Bay Packers’ linebacker one of the most improved players on the team this past summer. Hopper, a 2024 third-round pick, has been thrust into the team’s starting defensive lineup amid a flurry of injuries at the position, and he hasn’t disappointed by any stretch of the imagination.

Edgerrin Cooper suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in the Packers’ Oct. 4 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and then Zaire Franklin took a cleat to the shin during practice last week, forcing him to miss consecutive games with a hairline fracture. That bumped Hopper and Isaiah McDuffie up the depth chart, now serving as the Packers’ starting linebacker duo.

Entering this week, the Panthers were near the top of the league in explosive plays, which comes as no surprise with a tall, fast wideout in Tetairoa McMillan at their disposal. Chuba Hubbard has been dynamic out of the backfield, both as a runner and in the Panthers’ passing game.

Thanks to a 47.7 percent pressure rate from Jonathan Gannon, the Packers’ defensive coordinator, Bryce Young never truly had an opportunity to settle in and take shots downfield. He was limited to an average target depth of 5.6 yards, and Hopper played a critical role in keeping the second level of the Packers’ defense stabilized. He finished the game with eight tackles, one sack, three passes defensed, and an interception, becoming the first player to accomplish this feat in a game for the Packers since Charles Woodson’s Defensive Player of the Year campaign in 2009.

They’ll be down both of their starting linebackers against Jahmyr Gibbs and an explosive Lions offense. Edgerrin Cooper is already out for the season following an Oct. 4 Achilles tear, but they’ll be without Zaire Franklin this week, too. He popped up on Thursday’s practice report with a shin injury, which is severe enough to force the ironman linebacker to miss just the second game of his nine-year career.

“Unfortunately, there was a little collision [in practice], and he got kneed in the shin,” said head coach Matt LaFleur on Friday. “He’s going to be out for this game.”

LaFleur doesn’t anticipate it being a long-term injury that would land Franklin on injured reserve, but that’s still to be determined. At the very least, the Packers will have to navigate treacherous waters this week and re-evaluate Franklin once they’re back in Green Bay on Monday. They’ll lean heavily on Ty’Ron Hopper, a 2024 third-round pick, and Isaiah McDuffie, a 2021 sixth-round pick, to lead their linebacking corps against the Lions.

“We’re working through it right now,” LaFleur said. “I don’t think it’s going to be anything too long-term, but it’s just an unfortunate deal. That happens when you play football, especially with the way your guys have been practicing.

“But I think we have a lot of confidence in [Isaiah] McDuffie, [Ty’Ron] Hopper, and [Nick] Niemann, if need be, to go in there and do a good job for us.”

Along with McDuffie, Hopper, and Niemann, Kristian Welch—exclusively a contributor on special teams—is the only other linebacker on the 53-man roster. Jack Dingle, who was signed to the practice squad on Oct. 8, could be elevated this weekend.

The loss of Franklin could be crippling to the Packers’ defense on a normal occasion, let alone against someone as dynamic as Gibbs, who has nine touchdowns from scrimmage in the Lions’ five games this season. After being acquired in a trade with the Indianapolis Colts for Colby Wooden this past offseason, Franklin has stepped in and immediately cemented himself as a member of the Packers’ leadership council.

With a gold ‘C’ on his upper-right chest plate, Franklin has accumulated 41 tackles this season, No. 2 on the team behind Evan Williams. He’s registered two tackles for a loss—one of which came on a critical third-down stop in the Oct. 11 win over the Chicago Bears. Franklin has epitomized what it means to be durable and reliable, playing in 138 of a possible 139 games across his career at one of the most physically demanding positions in the sport; Sunday will end his streak of 48 consecutive starts.

After waiting until the seventh round—No. 235 overall, 21 selections away from going undrafted—to hear his name called in the 2018 NFL Draft, Franklin spent the first three years of his career as a backup and special teams contributor in Indianapolis. He started just four games on defense in that span, but the Colts had seen enough from him—both on the field and off of it—to name him as a team captain ahead of the 2020 campaign.

Franklin was a team captain at all three levels of his playing career—at La Salle College High School, Syracuse, and both of his NFL stops. Franklin brought 738 career tackles—644 of which have come since 2022—to Green Bay to account for the team’s decision to move on from Quay Walker. Walker, a former first-round pick, entered unrestricted free agency this past spring, prompting the Packers to turn to Franklin as a contingency plan.

The team was back to practicing in pads after Wednesday’s jog-through. Head coach Matt LaFleur tweaked the Packers’ practice schedule this week, starting with a scaled-back session following a late Sunday night win over the Dallas Cowboys. LaFleur also wanted to be mindful of next week, when the Packers will host the Carolina Panthers on Oct. 29 following a quick, four-day turnaround from this weekend’s game against the Detroit Lions.

There was some uncertainty surrounding Jordan Love’s status after he began the week as a limited participant with a back injury. However, that lasted maybe five minutes. Love said matter-of-factly that he’ll be under center on Sunday, and that was reflected on the injury report with him being upgraded to a full participant.

Love didn’t appear on the injury report in the first three weeks of the season when he was hit a staggering 34 times. The eight hits he took against the Cowboys did the trick, though.

“After the game, he was pretty beat up; he took some shots,” LaFleur said. “I saw him in there with the chiropractor post-game, so I knew something was up.”

Love’s upgrade was one of three changes to Thursday’s injury report—a pair of starting second-level defenders were added, too. Zaire Franklin was listed with a shin injury, while Lukas Van Ness is dealing with an illness. Both were limited participants, so there isn’t any reason to assume that they’ll miss Sunday’s game.

Both of the Packers’ starting wideouts, Christian Watson (ankle) and Matthew Golden (shoulder), were limited participants for the second consecutive day. When asked if there was concern for their availability this week, LaFleur explicitly said, “No.”

The same can’t be said for Bo Melton, who missed his second consecutive practice with a back injury. His status is going to be worth monitoring—not only for the Packers’ receiving corps, but for Cam Achord’s special teams unit, too. Watson, Golden, Melton, and Savion Williams are all listed on the injury report, leaving J. Michael Sturdivant as the only healthy receiver on the 53-man roster.

Williams, a former third-round pick who began the season on injured reserve, made his 2026 debut on Sunday. He caught four passes for 42 yards—two of those receptions coming on the first three plays from scrimmage—while filling a valuable role in the offense that he’s grown accustomed to. It’s unclear if Williams’ inclusion on the practice report is for the sake of load management with his ankle injury, or if he aggravated it on Sunday.

The Packers could be seeing the return of Aaron Banks fairly soon, which would complicate matters at left guard. Banks has played just one half of football this season—Sept. 20 against the New York Jets—while battling a toe injury and knee tendinitis, forcing the Packers to outsource for solutions. 34-year-old Laken Tomlinson was brought in last month to stabilize the offensive line, and, for the most part, he’s done exactly that.

Banks practiced in a limited fashion for all three days last week, but he was still inactive on Sunday. He’s been a limited participant both days this week.

“He had a great week of practice last week,” LaFleur said. “That’s the best I’ve seen him look in a long time, so I think he’s getting there.”
