GREEN BAY, Wis. — Jordan Love isn’t going to pull double-duty anytime soon, but he did get a brief glimpse into the life of an offensive coordinator in Friday night’s win over the Arizona Cardinals.
Even though the Green Bay Packers’ franchise quarterback was one of 37 players who didn’t dress for the preseason finale, he was still able to have an impact on the game. As has been the case this preseason, offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich called the plays in the first half, but those responsibilities were passed on to Love for the second half.
Love has never called plays before, but with an innate understanding of the offense, it’s hard to imagine that he would’ve skipped a beat. Passing the reins to Love, however, was never on the evening’s menu. Head coach Matt LaFleur admitted that he was joking around with Love about potentially calling plays before the game, but the 27-year-old didn’t hesitate to oblige.
