GREEN BAY, Wis. — Jordan Love has spent much of this season under duress, so Sunday night wasn’t anything out of the ordinary.
Not that the Green Bay Packers want to make a habit of it, but their franchise quarterback has routinely showcased an impressive ability to stand tall in the face of pressure and make accurate throws, knowing he’ll absorb a vicious hit.
“If you wanna be good in this league, you have to be able to take hits and deliver the ball,” Love said after the Packers’ 23-13 win over the Dallas Cowboys.
The Packers’ offensive line, for the most part, has stabilized. At least in comparison to where they were a month ago, when they surrendered 34 hits on Love through the Packers’ first three games. To alleviate some of their woes up front, the Packers have had to drastically alter their approach from a game-planning standpoint and get the ball out of Love’s hands quicker than usual. Love has averaged 2.48 seconds to throw this season, but against the Cowboys, that was boosted to 2.82 seconds.
