GREEN BAY, Wis. — Micah Parsons isn’t afraid of failure.

The Green Bay Packers’ otherworldly All-Pro pass rusher knows that failure comes with the territory for someone in his predicament. It’s inevitable. There are going to be glimpses of the player he was in yesteryear, and there are going to be moments that will beg the question of whether or not he’ll ever ascend to those heights again after such a devastating injury.

“Am I going to be the All-Pro Micah I once was this year? Probably not until later, after I go through all my phases,” Parsons said after Wednesday’s practice—his first since the injury, opening a 21-day window for him to be activated to the Packers’ 53-man roster. “But I think what people will see is, ‘This guy is ready to play football; he’s going to play hard, and he’s going to help boost this defense that was already doing a great job.’

“I think you’ll see flashes of All-Pro Micah when I get the pass rush. There will also be times I’m like, ‘Dang, what was I doing right there?’ I’m not ashamed of that, and I’m not scared of seeing the failure of this thing, because I just came back from an 11-month injury, so I’m not shying away from the responsibility of bad plays. What I’ll look for is the things I do well, and when I do something wrong, I’m going to look at it and do it right next time—the best players don’t make the same mistakes twice.”
