GREEN BAY, Wis. — The primetime lights of ‘Sunday Night Football’ at Lambeau Field will feature the return of Savion Williams, the Green Bay Packers’ dual-threat wideout.
After being designated to return from injured reserve on Oct. 7, Williams is officially being bumped back to the 53-man roster on Saturday, making him eligible to play in Sunday night’s homestand against the Dallas Cowboys.
Williams, a third-round pick of the Packers last spring, has strung together consecutive weeks of practices. Albeit as a limited participant, Williams said that he’s been participating in 11-on-11 team drills inside the Don Hutson Center. That was the biggest leap he’d taken in his recovery from an ankle injury he sustained in the Packers’ Aug. 21 preseason game versus the Denver Broncos.
